   Ice Dams and Snow Removal

   In winter season, Ice dams and snow removal becomes very important. A snow ridge is build on the edge of the roof in winters which is called the ice dam. These ice dams allow additional melt water to pond, or puddle behind the edges. Now, this can really be harmful for your roof and overall design and structure of your house. An ice dam may form when there is snow or the average outside temperature is below 32 degrees. It can also be formed if roof surface temperature is above 32 degrees at the higher end or below 32 at the lower end.
